Updated: Aug 25, 2021

In Part 2 of the IELTS speaking test, a student is given a topic to talk about for 1-2 minutes. Listen and watch Pedro in his IELTS speaking test and answer the following questions:
What was the topic question Pedro was asked?
How could he have done better in answering the question before the follow up questions from the examiner?
What is the first follow up question from the examiner?
How many examples does Pedro give?
How could he have answered this question better?
What is the second follow-up question asked by the examiner?
What reason does Pedro give?
What job does he give as an example?
What is the third follow-up question asked by the examiner?
What is the fourth follow-up question asked by the examiner?
What is the final follow-up question asked by the examiner?
Pedro talks about "getting forward" in the workplace. What is the expression he should have used, which means "to make progress in your work and become successful".
Now it's your turn!
Identify the main topic question and prepare your answer to this in written form. Remember it should be no longer than 1-2 minutes of speaking time.
Then identify the 5 follow-up questions asked by the examiner and prepare your answers to those.
